Hniezdenie káne močiarnej

kaňa močiarna (Circus aeroginosus)Shooting prey to doubt his great charm. Predatory birds are shy and fascinating at the same time. Their grandeur is reflected both in love as well as plain sailing over the annoying photographer. Today the Internet is flooded with photographs of birds of prey workshops, where, thanks to experienced falconers take good photographs of each. I tried it myself two years ago. It's a good school but it does not catch the magic of photographing birds of prey in the wild. Therefore, I decided this year to spend a few days with canoe Marsh.

If I compared what type I have this year spent more than, so clearly the marsh harrier (Circus aeruginosus). Predator, which has a similar name as a surname I, is with us to the most common. In “my” ponds this year, I counted 4 breeding pairs. I took advantage of this potential, and they spent every spare moment. In the morning I got up before sunrise on 4 o'clock so I tried to light during the morning some photographs. Before eight o'clock I was shifted to work. In the evening after work I went back to the pond and I until he departed for or photographic dark, once or 1D was not able to do anything. From the time when females wear male food sitting on the eggs to feed pups surge, It was put together about. 21 days.

During this period I tried all the tricks I can think of. I photographed the cover, improvised in the gazebo maskovačky, maskovačkou obscure but only in fatigues. Each method has its advantages. Fotokryt their Plašil least, behaved naturally after a few minutes. But in their speed and dynamic way of life was the problem with their sight through the side windows, focus, focus and click. The many good shots I came. When walking just in fatigues in turn plašili, adults circled over me and whistle gave other clear danger (I am the last person who would hurt them :) but rather let him fight people in general). Most proved to me “arbor”. Through maskovačku could have been arriving to monitor individual and you are very close and the focus and click. Due to the size of ponds has been a problem to estimate what part will stay. Mostly I missed :) .

What fascinates me the “wild” photography is the ability to recognize and understand the behavior of animals in their natural environment. Often they know the information in any available literature here and there to run things, that so far no one can be observed. There are time I became, I caught that as you look at all and does not attempt to shoot. Just the experience and the atmosphere has received. Long time, I did not understand why the air attack individuals carrying food to those what ever fished. After some time I realized, that's actually a male returning with food, kŕmiacimi females tend to be attacked or surge cubs. Males go ahead and spoil them they caught it in the air. It has been shown, it is not but sneak attack follows a sell catches deliberately.

It was also interesting to observe territorial behavior near nests. Kane had split into zones ponds, where in surroundings. 50 to 70 m from the nest nestrpeli other individuals. As soon as foraging male or female flew into a foreign territory, followed by an attack from any intimidation from parents. I also thought, that feed on fish ponds, where to catch the young birds lysiek etc.. To the surprise went almost exclusively fished the surrounding fields where they wore voles and other rodents. Kanu caught carrying a bird I've seen a few times. Thus, one could continue lessons, need to experience :)

After all these experiences I have in late summer from local gardeners learned, that a few times to see how anyone here went to shoot a shotgun Kane. Understand the reason, For fish almost exclusively rodents detrimental to farmers. But as I have already convinced the times x, Human stupid knows no borders. Unfortunately, but still able to surprise me where we are able to push those boundaries and what we can all….

I now know, that the next season with them again spend many a nice morning or evening. I have many ideas what to do differently and how to better capture camera. Nevertheless, that it is a common and uninteresting kind of falconry, time spent with them worth it. Can you picture these predators will enjoy. Each was vydretá :)
